Digital Unity Group have been working in close partnership with Social Housing providers the length and breadth of the UK since the earliest days of the drive to Digital Inclusion.

When it comes right down to it, we have an in depth understanding of Social Housing combined with a level of real world experience in providing reliable and affordable Connectivity and Digital Inclusion solutions that few, if any, can match.

From free, fully managed WiFi Internet Access for Tenants in Blocks of Flats and Supported Living Schemes to complex Community Broadband Networks across whole housing estates, we have designed, built and run some of the most successful Social Housing connectivity and DI projects across the UK.

We recognised a long time ago how important digital would be to Housing providers and that is why we know it is far from just being about Tenant connectivity and their Digital Inclusion.

A comprehensive Digital Strategy now needs to be at the core to every aspect of Social Housing.   From the building and maintenance of new "Smart Homes" to the delivery of high quality services and support to Tenants.

Take a few moments to look below at just what we can do to help - We think you might be a little suprised.
Increasing efficiency, reducing costs

Worker with phone

In recent years, things have dramatically changed for Social Housing.  Austerity, budget cuts, benefits change and other issues have forced housing providers to look at their operations and take whatever steps they need to ensure they are run efficiently and cost effectively.

Thankfully, digital is helping with that and Digital Unity Group (DUG) are keeping our clients at the forefront of that revolution.

With our public networks fully capable of supporting secure "Mobile Working", we can help organisations to achieve both of the above objectives. One provider we have been working with are projected to save c£100k per year by mobile workers using the public WiFi network instead of mobile phone data when working in and around their stock.

Time to ConnectFor one of the UK's largest providers, we have been able to rationalise their Corporate Data Connectivity in Supported Living Schemes by securely integrating it with the managed public WiFi service in each location. Immediate savings were made through the disposal of now redundant Telephone and Broadband lines in each location, all managed and supported by DUG.

For another, we have designed a secure, corporate private Wireless Network connecting all of their offices, depots and Supported Living Schemes. The capital investment for this project will be recouped in under 2 years through an annual saving of c£180k on the cost of their current network based on traditional underground Fibre/Leased Line connectivity.

And these networks are capable of so much more such as the capability to carry data for services such as CCTV, Door Entry Systems, Security and much more.

And it’s not just about the technology either
Improving your Digital Reach
Real Time intelligence that gives you the edge
Smart innovation is core to our success
Finally, the social ethose that we have always had at our core means we believe in giving something back too.  We believe our business should always seek to make a practical and material contribution to the communities we work within.

This is why our unique socially oriented business model has been developed to not only minimise initial capital costs but also to provides a genuine and sustainable profit share for Housing Providers going forward that will enable you to reinvest in more housing and better services.

In addition, as the nature of our business model requires a consistent level of local engagement and support, we will always look to work with providers to create local employment through our projects.  This could be the direct employment of individuals or supporting the set up and running of a local Social Enterprise as part of an overall Digital Inclusion program.

All in all, we believe you and your Tenants will go a very long way to find a more experienced, innovative and supportive partner than Digital Unity Group for the journey into the new digital age.

Why risk going elsewhere?

Our core ethos and business model is built around the belief that we must deliver real benefit to the people, communities and organisations we work with. As a member of the Digital Leaders 100 Club and a signatory to the UK government's Digital Inclusion Charter, we help to end digital exclusion and make the UK one of the true leaders of the digital world.
